What ArabicFix is and how it works

ArabicFix is a free website for fixing and cleaning Arabic text: 19 browser tools and in-depth guides. What it does, how it works and what it does not do.

A free place to fix Arabic text

ArabicFix is a free website for the everyday problems of Arabic text: letters that come out reversed or disconnected in design software, text copied from a PDF that turns into strange characters, diacritics you need to remove, Arabic-Indic digits a form will not accept, a keyboard layout mistake, hidden characters that break a search. It has 19 tools and a growing set of in-depth guides. Arabic comes first; every tool and guide also has an English version.

It is used by people who move Arabic text between apps: designers, translators, students, office and data-entry staff, and developers who need to see what is really inside a string.

What you can do here

  • Clean copied text: diacritics, tatweel, spacing, line breaks and digits in the Cleaner.
  • Fix reversed or disconnected Arabic for apps without Arabic support, or repair reversed text copied from such files, in Reversed Arabic.
  • Find invisible characters, look up any Arabic character and compare Unicode normalization forms.
  • Count words and characters, compare two versions, convert digits, write amounts in Arabic words, fix the wrong keyboard layout and convert Arabizi.
  • Sort, filter and compare lists, extract CSV columns and search with regular expressions.

How the tools work

Each tool applies clear, published rules to the text you paste. Nothing is guessed by an AI model. The original stays separate from the result, and every change is a choice you switch on. You can compare before you copy.

Processing happens in your browser. The tools do not upload your text or files, and there is no account. Reference data comes from Unicode 18.0.0 and CLDR 48.2.3, and the versions are shown in the tools that use them.

How the guides are written

Each guide answers one real problem. The before-and-after examples in the guides and under each tool are produced by the tools themselves when the site is built, so what you read is what the tool does. Facts about other software, such as Microsoft Word, Adobe apps or phone keyboards, are checked against the vendor’s own help pages and linked at the end of the guide. Each guide shows when it was published and last updated.

If you find a mistake, tell us and we will correct it.

What ArabicFix does not do

It does not proofread grammar, add diacritics automatically, translate, or read text from images (OCR). It cannot recover letters that a PDF never stored correctly. The number-to-words tool follows standard grammar rules, but it is not a legal check for cheques or contracts. Always review results that matter.

Independent and free

ArabicFix is an independent project. All tools are free with no sign-up and no paid tier. The Writing desk page contains one clearly labelled affiliate link; the privacy page explains it, along with the current advertising status. See also the terms of use.
